SubOptic 2023, the industry-renowned triennial submarine telecoms conference kicks off next week in Bangkok, Thailand from 13-16 March 2023. The SubOptic conference is the submarine cable industry’s longest running and most comprehensive conference series, and this year’s theme—Navigating the Open Seas: Collaboration on our Critical Infrastructure—sets out a full agenda of discussion points.
As always, the event will also include a busy exhibition floor showcasing the latest subsea technologies and a multitude of opportunities for face-to-face networking.
Like many international conferences, this conference was initially postponed due to the global pandemic, the last SubOptic taking place in New Orleans back in 2019.
A team from Ocean Specialists, Inc. will be in attendance in Bangkok, led by OSI President Perry Wright and Tony Mosley, OSI’s Director of Business Development.
We look forward to attending in person and the opportunity to network with industry partners and discuss today’s most pressing matters with colleagues from the submarine cable industry after such a long hiatus.
The SubOptic Foundation is leading the charge for sustainability and development of networks of the future. As capacity growth continues with the adoption of cloud and 5G mobile and a concerted effort to provide service to the underserved, the industry faces the very real challenges of price erosion, competitive pressures, and a strategic adjustment driven by the Hyperscale community.
SubOptic 2023 is the collective effort by the subsea industry to innovate the methods of developing fiber optic cables systems and creating networks with sustainable and long-term positive outcomes. The submarine cable community continues to innovate in the face of mounting concerns surrounding the next wave of global shocks, be them financial, natural, geopolitical, or manmade in nature.
The need to serve global internet and communications growth has never been greater and OSI looks forward to carrying on discussions that focus on how we, as an industry, can meaningfully advance and enrich a legacy that started over 200 years ago and looks set to continue far into the future.
See you in Bangkok!
