Ocean Specialists Inc. (OSI) was in Houston last month for the 50th anniversary of the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), where the theme of “Going the Distance” reflected on what is there to expect for the next 50 years of the conference and offshore Oil and Gas technology. With almost 60 thousand attendees from over 100 nations, OTC proved to be the conference to attend for all things O&G.
This vision of the future could already be sensed at this year’s conference through the emphasis of cutting-edge technology and digitalization by many of the vendors. From a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) thousands of kilometers away from being driven at the exhibitor’s booth to the use of artificial intelligence for reservoir monitoring and data analysis.
OSI in collaboration with our sister company CSA Ocean Sciences and partners Okeanus and MVI held our 2nd Annual Reception on a Monday evening, following day-1 of the conference, at the Monarch Terrace of the Hotel ZaZa. The reception exceeded all expectations when it came to attendance and engagement and we were glad to reconnect with old acquaintances as well as making new ones. OSI would like to thank everyone who attended for making the event such a successful evening, full of colorful stories from the past, interesting discussions on the state of offshore Oil & Gas Industry, and new opportunities that are bubbling to the surface.
OSI was glad to share our recent Marine Operations roles including our integrated offshore operations in the Gulf of Mexico and the Florida Atlantic coast, including a series of site selection surveys in the Caribbean.
OSI and the entire CSA family of companies would like to thank the OTC organizers for another well-organized event. We look forward to being part of it next year and to seeing everyone at CSA’s 3rd Annual Reception. Stay tuned for more information in Q2’20.
