Network Development of South Atlantic Cable System

South Atlantic Cable System

Location

Angola and Brazil

Industry

Challenge

Rich in natural resources, and with an aggressive strategy to invest in telecom infrastructure development, Angola has embarked on a plan to position the country as a central hub for Africa’s growing broadband needs. A critical link in that strategy is a transatlantic cable system, linking Angola and Brazil, to provide much needed capacity in the Southern Hemisphere.

Solution

From the company’s inception, OSI has worked closely with Angola Cables to assist the executive team in developing a global network strategy, network funding, structure arrangements and partnering options for this critical network. OSI team members led design of the network architecture, technology assessments, and negotiations of all vendor and supplier agreements. OSI will manage network construction and installation aspects for the project through final system verification and close-out.
