OSI Strengthens Their Quality Management System

In a collaborative effort to enhance our Quality Management System (QMS), Ocean Specialists, Inc. (OSI) has committed to pursuing ISO9001:2015 Quality Management System certification—an internationally recognized set of standards. A QMS is a set of policies, procedures, and processes required for the planning and execution of key business functions within an organization, primarily those that impact client requirements.

The first milestone was achieved as HSSE Director, Eirik Kydland, completed ISO9001:2015 Quality Lead Auditor certification. Mr. Kydland, along with senior management, will facilitate the internal auditing process in preparation for third-party certification audits while maintaining ongoing conformity with the set of standards.

OSI’s parent company, Continental Shelf Associates, Inc. (CSA), currently maintains a group-wide system known as CSA Operations Management System (COMS) which was developed based on the ISO9001 standards and has enhanced the ability of OSI and our sister company CSA Ocean Sciences to deliver quality services in all of our core markets. Achieving ISO9001:2015 Quality Management Systems certification will further ensure we are continually monitoring and improving our processes to better serve our vast spectrum of international clients and provide them with the confidence that services they receive are of the highest quality.

“Our organization has worked over the years to establish a comprehensive management system that would improve our quality of performance, increase productivity, focus on meeting and exceeding our customers’ expectations, and create a safe and effective environment for our staff,” stated Kevin Peterson, Chairman and CEO of CSA. “Moving towards ISO9001 certification is the next logical step for our organization as we grow our services in the international market.”
